Our Values

Our ACCSA values form the heart and soul of our organisation. They are our guiding principles and define who we are and what we stand for. It’s important that we uphold these values within our organisation, but we also want to help our entire ACCSA community live and breathe these values on a day to day basis.

  • Cultural Preservation: Maintaining and preserving our African identity is critical to the ACCSA mission. While we love and embrace our new home in Australia, it’s also really important that we keep our African heritage and culture alive and continue to share and pass on our traditions, food, music, stories, and experiences to future generations. We believe in promoting the African community and the value this can bring to the people of South Australia.
  • Unity: We are an organisation that represents the African people – wherever in Africa you may be from. We recognise the many nations and languages that make up Africa, but we celebrate them as one community within ACCSA. However diverse, we believe in unifying the African people and sharing and learning from our differences.
  • Integrity: Doing the right thing matters to us. As both an organisation, and as individuals part of a wider community, we truly believe in conducting ourselves with integrity and taking accountability for our actions and words. We strive to do business ethically and in the best interests of our members, and promote integrity amongst our African community.
  • Kindness: We believe in being kind and spreading kindness. As an organisation, we were founded on the shoulders of many volunteers and it is only due to their kindness that we are able to serve our community. We aim to promote kindness and compassion within our community and help others when they need it.
